About The Soldiers’ Charity
MRR is operated by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity in partnership with Run 4 Wales, one of the UK’s largest mass participation event companies.
Run 4 Wales (R4W) is a not for profit social enterprise and charitable trust set up to promote, manage and deliver major sporting events – whilst supporting and reinvesting in grassroot athletics.
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity has been involved with R4W for a number of years – in 2018 & 19 over 150 fundraisers took part in the Cardiff Half Marathon raising thousands of pounds for the cause, whilst a number of Welsh Guards took part remotely during a tour of Afghanistan – inspiring the MRR movement.
ABF The Soldiers’ Charity is the national charity of the British Army, providing a lifetime of support to soldiers, veterans and their immediate families when they are in need. Since 1944, the welfare of the Army family has been at the heart of everything we do.
In the past year, we have helped 70,000 people in 68 countries across the globe and funded 92 charities and organisations that support the Army family at large. We pride ourselves on acting immediately when help is needed, providing true through-life support for the nation’s soldiers, veterans and families. Crucially, we act with speed. When we are alerted that a person or family is in need of help, we aim to make the relevant grant within 48 hours.
While there is a British Army,
there will be The Soldiers’ Charity.
